Just to confuse things even further I thought I would add the Rules Rambles from last months Dinghy Sailing Magazine. Those of you new to racing may find this of interest!
There were no initials to say who created this post but thanks must go to whoever did. I thought we had found a definitive answer to the ongoing Mathew verses Uta saga with exception 3, then realised that the boats gybed rather than tacked in the example. So Mathew is still winning on points at present (I think) JW
The best way to learn the rules is to protest.........that way a number of people get involved in the process leading to a decision, remember we are expected to send copies of protests to the IYRC which can lead to rulers being ammended or changed to make it better for all. AC.
Having now observed the back of the book (thanks TFC) I notice that most of the protest commitee regularly sail in the fleet. Is that not a conflict of interest
