Benches
As you know the auction raised in excess of £1000!
We have brought a bench and it has been delivered to the club.
Only one has been brought because we want to know the general opinion of them. If the response is good, we will buy more, if bad we will try a different place.
So have a look and let me know what you think.

Have had a look over the bench and agree is chunky... but don't think is as well finished as our exisiting benches once were. Sorry to be critical but none of the edges of either seats or table are chamferred (child alert on 'sharp' edges!), because it has no cross braces it wobbles, the timber is already cracked and bending, and it seems large within the available space.

Having now tried it after having my lunch on it today.
I am with Matt on this one.
The bench is constructed out of soft wood not, hard wood and the finnish isn't that great.

The benches are what we have at work, The ones we have are 4 years old and arrived and looked just the same,4 years later they look no worse, strong enough to with stand a lot of abuse, more than you can imagine. This really becomes apparent when you have the more well built sailors 15st plus arroundit. (its not just me). DH
