JUST A NOTE

To all, now we are in our winter series of sailing there are a few extra club rules that need to be followed. You are required to wear either a wet suit or a dry suit - a lot of our younger members look up to the more experienced members as role models, how can we expect them to follow these simple rules if we cannot. Earlier this year the club disposed of a lot of life jackets and boyancy aids as they did not have the C E mark inside them, they were deemed unsafe for use, so I am puzzled why some members still use their own, that are not CE marked.
These rules and guidelines are put in place for a reason, usually for safety - YOURS. Maybe our younger members could look out for any of these issues , let me know and I will gladly point out the error of their ways. Its worth reading up on Hyperthermia signs and symptoms and most of all what to do in cases of extreme conditions. You may be on rescue duty and have to make unpopular decisions for others. If you want info etc please feel free to ask.
Go and enjoy the series - safely and have fun. See you all there. Dave Hall.
