The Weather

Hi Everyone at the club.
It is good to see that you are keeping up the good work despite the cold weather. It seems difficult to believe that it can be cold when it is such fantastic weather here in Fremantle, Australia. It just seems unusual to have Christmas in such good weather. I have included a photo of Santa on the roof of the town hotel to prove that he comes here as well.
I can report an excellent crossing of the Southern Ocean. I think we were perhaps a bit lucky with the weather, though it was Force 9 at times. Fortunately the wind was behind us so it did not seem so strong and we could surf down the waves of days. However, it is a bit deceptive as we were caught by cross waves and jibed inadvertantly and nearly lost two crew. One of them was badly injured but luckily one of the crew is a doctor so she sewed him up OK. And we still had to cook, which for 16 in a small heaving galley is a bit tricky. The photo I have attached is when it was still for a second.
Off to Singapore on Sunday - New Years Day, so Happy New Year all of you.
