Basic/Refresher Power Boat Coarses

We are going to run a series of courses over the summer seasion which will be open to all members free of charge.

The objective is to improve members awareness of the clubs safety facilities as an introduction to the RYA level 2 coarse and act as a refresher for those who have already have an RYA level 2 certificate.

We aim to run these courses on a flexible time table to be arranged directly between members and the clubs PBI's.

We intend to run these courses for around two hours and they can be booked: week day evenings, Saturdays and mid week days according to suitability.

Any members wishing to take advantage of this coarse please contact: Allan Coleman, Dave Hall, Chris Davis or my self to arrange a convenient time.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Faz (rya,pbi)

The Great Holiday Debate.

A rather interesting debate was struck up in the bar last Sunday regarding prefrences between floatiller holidays and shore based club holidays, this went on for some time over a couple of pints and one of the points raised was that a floatiller holiday would be like "sailing a caravan."

Taking the debate rather seriously our hard master has devolped a new concept craft which is currently under going sea trials and we await a report back on his findings.

This picture was taken just after launching and they haven't been seen since!

RESCUE BOAT OUT OF ACTION

Unfortunatly the new rib is temporarily out of action as the engine has developed a cooling problem, it is being looked at and hopefully will be resolved asap.

The old rib is fully operational, but requires the fuel to be mixed in the tank manualy @ 50:1

It is also a pull start and the kill chord switch on the console needs to be set to "RUN" or it won't start,

Sorry if I sound like I am teaching people to suck eggs, but alot of the newer members will not be used to a more primitive outboard system than we currently opererate.

Thanks
