Inlands

As some of you know me, James and Matt did the Inlands this weekend.

On Saturday there it was quite breezy and we did one race in the morning and then two back to back in the afternoon.

Today (Sunday) there was no wind and the race was postponed. Everyone went onto the water and rafted up ect but then they decided to cancel the racing

So after 3 races James was 166 (2nd U12)
I was 186
Matt was 201 (3rd U12)

This is out of 258, which I think is a great achievement for all of us. I would like to say thanks to Steve because without his training I don’t think we would have done that well, also my dad, Grandad, Jude and Dan for generally supporting us.

Auction!

I have just got back from the club and thought I would put a quick summary of tonight on here as me, James and Matt are off to the Inalnds tomorrow!

And of course it was a brilliant night!

I would like to say a big thanks to the auctioneer (my dad), joe for selling the programmes etc and Dave for doing the bar and Grahame, Sue and Laura for doing the catering.

Then I would like to say thank you to John Wilber without his support and help I could not have organised tonight. Thanks John.

Then everyone who donated something and seeing as everything sold everyone, for raising money for the club.

Last but definately not least everyone who came down and dug deep for such a good cause.

Well I suppose those who didnt come down will want to know what we raised. I was hoping to make maybe £400 - 4 new benches, but in the end we made an amazing £1059.52!!!!! 10 benches (not that we needed that many!)

Anyway thanks again to all involved and look out for the new benches at the club soon!

Another successful Weekend, Thank You Everyone for Participating.

Once again another top weekend at Powels Pool:

Saturday hosted the open day with plenty of members participating and playing host to potential new members, we had several families down having a go for the first time, a big thanks to everyone who helped out.

Topper Training Sunday morning saw eleven Toppers on the water all making a huge amount of progress as the training continues to bring forward the club's future winners. Once again thanks to Steve, Tony, Dave Hall, and most importantly the ladies for helping out in the kitchen and providing lunch and for the parents for supporting the fleet once again.
Visit www.sutton-toppers.piczo.com for more delails.

Sunday Racing: What a riot, very little wind and probably the worst start you could ever imagine on the second race, with most of the fleet being tangled up together on the start line leading to lots of confusion, raised voices and "Yanking" which eventually diluted itself by the first mark (its only a race.)

A few more exchanged words on the second mark (its still only a race) and the pack started to split up (sorry Mike didn't mean to bump you.)

Then followed a very tactical race at the back of the fleet (as normal) between myself & Chris Davies, and Robb Webb & Dennis Swaine in the other Ent. Asbolute top laugh and learnt a lot from Chris thanks.

To top it all an even bigger laugh in the bar afterwards, what can I say the end to a perfect weekend.

Many Thanks To All.

Help Needed With The Rogues Gallery.

As a way of putting names to faces I have been tasked with the job of putting together a Rogues Gallery to be displayed in the the club house.

Please do not be alarmed if you see me taking photo's of people during club meetings I'm not into stalking honest.

With over 130 members its impossible for me to take every ones photo so to help me out can I ask that members send in a photo with there name and what type of boat they sail. The more informal the photo (within reason) the better. The photo does not need to be of a great file size as they are only going to be printed fairly small. I already have a lot of the regulars and will continue to catch people on club days.

If you do not have email I can scan images from prints and return them to you if this helps.

Please email to: faz@fazaudio.com

Thanks
Faz

I'd just Like To Say Thankyou.

Since Joining the club last June I have been struggling both in a Laser and in later days my enterprise with very little success, but this seems to be changing, a couple of weeks ago I had a very informative couple of races sailing with Bill, and today I sailed with John Wilber on both accounts we didn't win any thing which doesn't really matter but got greatly improved results which has made me feel alot better about the whole thing.
To top it all today in very variable conditions I didn't get wet, which lost Fletch a tenner as he bet AC we would go over.(Nice one John)
So I would just like to thankyou to John & Bill for there help as it was much needed.
