Is This a Record?

As the club does so much work for juniors, the RYA have recently provided us with two free courses. The first one proved to be a very interesting one on Boat Tuning while the second one was a one day course designed to help new sailors get to grips with racing and, in particular, with race starting. This was very ably presented by Tom Davenport from the RYA. There were 10 course members but, wait for it, six were of the fairer sex. In other word, the men were outnumbered by the women on a sailing course! - Fantastic.

Has this ever happened before in the club's history? I doubt it. If not, it is a club record and, as such, should be recorded in Alan Turner's 'History of the Club' which he is presently preparing.

In addition to these six there are now at least eight other regular female sailors in the club. A new group could be formed within the club and, on the course, there was already talk about buying a pink boat!
