ANNUAL PRIZE GIVING EVENT

In the past, the annual prize giving event was one of the most important events of the year. It was held at venues such as Penn’s Hall and consisted of an evening meal with a guest speaker, prize giving and finally dancing. Ladies wore a Cocktail Dress and the gents wore attire to match.

Although everyone had a very pleasant evening it did prove to be quite an expensive affair and eventually such a lavish activity was abandoned. However, all we do now is have a freezing evening at the club house and hand out the various trophies. Quite a few members have suggested that, while the past was perhaps a bit over the top in today’s climate, we should take advantage of the occasion to have a pleasant night out together and one or two venues with costs have been suggested.

The purpose of this ‘post’ is to test the water to see what other members of the club think about this and to obtain some more detailed proposals.

So, club members, comments and suggestions please.
